Cecilie Myrseth is a trained psychologist from the University of Tromsø, a member of parliament since 2017, and a member of the central board of the Norwegian Labour Party since 2019. She served as a member of the Standing Committee on Trade and Industry from 2017 to 2021 and previously held the position of fisheries policy spokesperson for the Labour Party. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Standing Committee on Health and Care Services.
Myrseth served as Minister of Fisheries and Oceans from October 16, 2023, to April 19, 2024.
Myrseth has extensive experience with the Labour Party and its youth organization, AUF. She has served as the leader of the Troms Labour Party and held various positions within the party, including in the county council and county executive board of Troms. She also has a background in the Norwegian Union of Secondary School Students.
